Cara Tanamachi (also known as Cara Lockwood) is the USA Today bestselling author of 40 books, including The Takeover and The Second You’re Single, a 2024 Diverse Writers and Readers International winner. Her first book, I Do (But I Don’t), was made into a Lifetime Original Movie. The Japanese-American novelist also wrote the novelization of The Dater’s Handbook, starring Duchess Meghan Markle, and ghostwrote The Sweet Life, a Sweet Valley High novel, with Francine Pascal. Cara created the Bard Academy series, a finalist for the Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence. She co-hosts the romance podcast, Skip to the Good Part.
